While gearing up for a collaboration with Three Stripes, Drake ultimately switched sides to The Swoosh after conflict between him and the killer combo of Pusha-T and Ye ended that foray in the summer of 2018. A few years later, its NOCTA sub-brand would be introduced into a variety of clothing collections, although sneakerheads awaited its first official Nike silhouette which would be the Hot Step Air Terra. Opinions on the silhouette were mixed when it first released, and on the heels of the Black University Gold colorway hitting the public, Drake stepped out at The Maxims, a Nike awards show, and was spotted wearing his next silhouette with The Swoosh . this was first seen in April 2022. Later, the sneaker was revealed to be the Nike NOCTA Glide.

Taking clear inspiration from the Zoom Flight 95, the Nike NOCTA Glide comes in a mid-top form and features a mix of standard mesh, ballistic mesh, fused plastic overlays, and leather. On his feet was the all-red pair, although images shared by Drake himself also feature an all-white option. Fused plastic eyelets accommodate the flat laces as well as Nike branding along each semi-Swoosh pattern, while the heel portion houses a 3D Nike Swoosh. On the heel, a two-tone nylon tab sits just above a Nike -branded chrome tab. Underfoot is where the clear comparisons to Jason Kidd's favorite silhouette occur, as the foam accentuates the bug-eye features with NOCTA branding in shiny chrome.
