A trend setter in the world of sneakers and streetwear, Teddy Santis went from being the owner of a niche streetwear label, Aime Leon Dore, to being the creative director of New Balance's Made in USA line. Although the duo still collaborates through their ALD label, their work on the Made in USA line has proven to be a success. Most drops come in neutral tones of gray, black, and white, but the latest colorway appearing on the New Balance 990v3 Made in USA by Teddy Santis is a “Raw Amethyst” purple.

As is the case with all Made in USA models, the upper materials are premium, dressed in suede, mesh and nubuck panels. Most of the upper is suede, with a slight amethyst purple shade appearing near the toe, midfoot, and heel. The dark navy mesh panels pair well with the dark gray suede overlays. For the laces and the tongue, this same dark navy blue is chosen while the top of the tongue takes on a black tint and welcomes the New Balance USA marking in orange. Along the midfoot, the N logo is dressed in accented orange, surrounded by white edging. For the collar, a white mesh is used which matches well with the orange insole and the retro New Balance graphic on the upper. At the heel, a black perforated leather tab is located above the orange NB logo. The two-tone cream midsole is complemented by a gray and black rubber outsole.
