Often traveling far and wide for inspiration, Soulland 's few but powerful collaborations with Nike SB have put them on the radar of SB label fans and fashion enthusiasts alike. Their Dunk High and the accompanying low put both silhouettes in the spotlight and the upcoming Blazer Mid (which now goes by the name “ FRI.day 03 ”) is ready to do the same as it dresses almost entirely in snake skin. While their first pairs focused on Los Angeles, the newcomer headed east to traverse Japan's influential skate culture. Marking the third collaboration of its kind, the model adopts a distinct aesthetic, far from the minimal modifications of the original piece. The Swooshes themselves are redone in a way that has become their signature; instead of the standard overlays, the profile logos are replaced with a miniature emblem while the heel sports an edge-to-edge chenille texture. The main materials are faux snakeskin in deep earth tones, while the laces, sole elements and heel tab are much more neutral, the latter opting for a standard heathered leather. Branding accents are represented by an asymmetrical embossing of "FRI" and "day", one of the more subtle accents next to the likely insole graphic.
