With a little help from Aime Leon Dore, the New Balance 550 quickly became the shoe brand's "it" shoe. Ostensibly influenced by the work of ALD, this 550 is mainly dressed in white leather, both smooth and perforated. The midsole is tinted a light cream, complementing that of the mesh collar and tongue. Further underfoot, the outsole is dressed in shades of gray and green, with the latter also coloring the trims above and the New Balance text sitting atop the tongue's yellow basketball graphics. Other examples of this warm tone, then, complete the colorway through the "N" logo and the "550" type.
