Nike Air Max Plus fans will rejoice to learn that the “Scarab” colorway, dating from 2001 , will be brought back for the very first time. This edition was coveted and traded for more than 20 years by eager collectors, who were mostly limited to exhibiting pairs with cracked and wearable midsoles. As the official photos above show, the 2022 Bringback is actually an exact remake of the original.

The 1998 AMP, aka TN , featured a gradient upper and translucent TPU ribs, among other features. This last element is carried over on the ' Scarab ', but the rest of the upper takes on an iridescent metallic shade of ' Metallic Copper ' (as it is officially called in 2022) which fades to oxidized green depending on the viewing angle. This striking visual effect has similarities to other Nike models from the early 2000s, including the Air Tuned Max, but the "Scarab" is its own entity. Other elements, like the bumper and air units, are blacked out and gold respectively to complement the sinister aesthetic of this colorway.

Warning: Depending on the light and viewing angles, the pair is green or red, a real chameleon!
