Introduced in early 2022, the Jordan 1 Elevate is a platform version of the coveted basketball silhouette, relying more on fashion than the performance it was once known for. Throughout the year of its introduction, the women's exclusive model has only appeared in low-top form, although that will all change by 2023. Alongside the recently revealed "Varsity Red" pair, the Air Jordan 1 Elevate High “ Desert ” is on the market.

Staying true to the heritage of the AJ 1, the upper features a classic silhouette with a full leather construction, although some details are muddled. White leather lands on the perforated toe box, midfoot, collar and tongue, while the various overlays get the aforementioned desert makeover. Tonal beige laces accent the unbranded tongue label, borrowing the theme found on the outline of the Jordan Wings logo along the collar. On the medial side, a zipper is included to allow easy on and off, given that the new high height would make donning more difficult. Finally, underfoot, the extra-thick reworked AJ 1 midsole comes in a Sail hue with a two-tone Desert and Sail rubber outsole.
