The Nike Air Max Plus has been surprisingly absent from many of the brand's recent festivities, from Lunar New Year to Valentine's Day. The pair will, however, not be absent from this year's Longtaitou festival , which officially kicked off today. Started during the Tang and Song dynasties (and known by many other names) the Longtaitou festival takes place on the second day of the second month of the Chinese lunar calendar.
While many people are enjoying traditional foods and cutting their hair in celebration, Nike is releasing an extremely vibrant colorway of the Air Max Plus. A powerful gradient of blue and pink covers most of the upper, while neutral colors (black, cream and brown) dress many adjacent elements, including the laces that surround the shoe itself. Red, an auspicious color in Chinese culture, is also present on the side Swoosh as well as on the characters printed on the insole.
