While many other Nike classics have seen their share of updates under the " Utility " moniker, the Air Max 97 has been largely underrepresented with only the "SE" and "Ultra" versions taking over the branch. the most technical of design. However, this has just changed for the better with the introduction of two new schemes under the transformative epithet, introducing it to a different style. The first, made playful by contrast, is primarily a mix of warm tones: mudguards and all other layers sport more muted variations of suede, then smoother synthetics, accented in between by reflective strips and neon tubes from one edge to the other.

The Swooshes sit in light blues, adding a little subtle complement to the mix of bright hues, blacked-out midsoles, and gum soles. The latter, along with its accompanying pair, which shares shape but not color, forms the upgraded tread in light gray, a perfect detail for the largely stealthy upgraded upper whose panels favor parsimonious variance along a black spectrum and lace units of a striking white embellishment.
