The Nike Air Max 1 has celebrated its 35th anniversary in style over the past 11 months. And before the end of the year, Tinker Hatfield's revolutionary design took on a new ensemble referencing Nike Dunk's 2001 " Ugly Duckling " collection.

Designed with premium suede materials, the new sneakers feature a color combination reminiscent of the ' Ceramic ' pair from the aforementioned collection: ' Kumquat ' and ' Honeydew ' liven up the mudguards, profile swooshes and other supportive accents, while “Black” and “Anthracite” cover the majority of the Air Max’s center panels. The underfoot cushioning and traction solution maintains a relatively simple arrangement, with midsoles promoting a " White " look. The visible airbags and the embossed pattern of the sole return to the "Honeydew" style. Finally, a duck silhouette is embroidered on the back of each shoe, completing the “ ugly duckling ” theme.
