Patta, founded in Amsterdam in 2004, has become a household name for sneakerheads and streetwear enthusiasts, particularly thanks to its collaborations with brands such as Nike and Carhartt WIP. Their latest capsule with Nike, their wavy take on the Air Max 1, was an immediate success, with the release of four colorways during the second half of 2021. After an initial look at an all-white pair, Patta and Nike have taken the colorblocking of the "Rush Maroon" pair to create the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 "Brown".

Dressed in a mix of leather and mesh on the upper and underlays, the sneaker adopts an almost two-tone look, without the brown collar and blue plastic eyelet. On the toe of the shoe, silver mesh is surrounded by the wavy overlays of the classic Patta AM1, which take on a burnt orange color from heel to toe. Branding details remain standard on the upper, with the Nike Swoosh along the midfoot receiving a silver trim and the mini-Swoosh located on the mudguard embroidered with silver thread.

The laces take on a tonal shade of dark ginger, moving up the matching mesh tongue to the silver and white co-branded Patta and Nike tongue label. On the heel, the Nike Air embroidery uses a different shade of brown, allowing the branding to remain visible on the brown leather. The look is completed by a sail AM1 midsole with a visible air unit in the heel, paired with a burgundy-colored rubber outsole.
