Although the team currently has no ties to New Balance as an athlete or sponsor, the Boston-based brand is turning to the Los Angeles Lakers' iconic colors of gold and purple to dress two colorways of their most popular silhouette in recent years, the New Balance 550. Both colorways in this pack are constructed with a majority of white leather across the upper, accented with hits of purple and gold often associated with the Los Angeles Lakers. On one option, gold covers New Balance 's N logo with a purple border surrounding it, while the other colorway reverses this design. Other touches of purple can be found on the edge of the perforated leather panel found on both colorways.

Branding on the tongue and the aforementioned perforated leather repeat the purple and gold colors, reversing the main colors and accent colors on each pair respectively. At the heel, the gold version uses white and gray on the collar while the purple version adds this color to the mesh. Finally, the midsole is white, with a two-tone gold look on one pair and purple and gray on the other.
