Nike Air Max 1 '86 OG Big Bubble Lost Sketch

Nike 's Big Bubble initiative, in the form of the Air Max 1 '86 , launched in March of this year, tracing the history of an earlier version of the iconic visible air running shoe. In addition to the OG “ Sport Red ” colorway, Nike released a quartet of limited-quantity styles, whetting the appetite of Air Max fans around the world. Today we get our first look at another creation, clad in the textured Safari pattern around the mudguard. This detail is also closely linked to the chief architect of the Air Max 1, Tinker Hatfield .

According to Tinker, he concocted the famous " Safari " print when he noticed an ostrich skin sofa in a furniture store. Interestingly, the style code supposedly attached to this sneaker (based on the shoebox in the photo) is linked to the recently released "Light Armory Blue" pair. This suggests that this "Blue Safari" iteration is once again a limited-edition collaboration, similar to how Kids Of Immigrants doctored the " Smokey Mauve " pair and individually numbered it to 1,986 pairs. What sets this pair apart, aside from the obvious Safari pattern, is that the midsole is now tinted yellow and an artistic " AIR " sits just above the visible window.
