For years now, Nike has attempted to blend streetwear and golf, flipping the script on many classics to better prepare them for the green. Among these experiments, the Air Max 97 is perhaps the most frequented; it is soon ready to lean further into its inspirations with a corduroy construction, a suede kiltie, and a playful colorway.
From the bottom, the upper leads with a dark beige hue and a gum sole with improved performance. Brighter touches of orange and green then dress just above, transitioning from toe to heel in parallel to both the aforementioned and the white cord that dresses the majority of the shoe. The suede kiltie, heel pull, lining, and midsole follow suit, while the branding (aside from the giant golf ball on the inside) turns its swooshes into a warm, bold tone. Also note that the kiltie is completely removable.
