Before the 30th anniversary celebration of the Nike Air Max 1 came to a close in 2017, Nike added a new original colorway in December, this "Obsidian" edition. The Air Max 1 Obsidian replicates the original colorway of the shoe - a version that has always been overshadowed by the two more famous, but no less attractive, red and white versions.
Like other 30th Anniversary Air Max 1s, the Obsidian Edition more closely replicates the shape and materials of an original 1987 pair than standard modern Air Max 1s, right down to the thin tongue construction. This is truly a trigger no Air Max fan should be without, grab your pair while you can. We may have to wait another 30 years before we get another chance.
