The silhouette combines the iconic lines of the GEL-KAYANO 12 launched in 2006 with a more modern cushioning system, positioning it halfway between retro-running and lifestyle sneaker. The result remains highly technical visually, with a complex construction and a distinctly Y2K identity.

The upper incorporates one of the original model's most distinctive concepts: an inspiration drawn from European gothic armor and its structural and metallic properties. This influence is found in the reinforcements that structure the upper and the numerous overlapping lines of the design. Beneath these panels, ASICS uses open mesh underlays, intended to improve airflow.
