Montreal-based design studio JJJJound , led by creative genius Justin Saunders, has captured the attention of the sneaker community over the past few years. Its collaborations with major footwear giants have set the tone for contemporary streetwear, but the brand's efforts with New Balance are truly resonating with sneakerheads. While the iconic 99X series collaborations have often left fans in awe, this fall/winter all eyes are on JJJJound's rendition of the ever-popular New Balance 2002R.

Offering a fresh approach, JJJJound deviates from its usual monochrome styles. Drawing a similar color palette to Atmos' recent cyber-inspired colorway, this iteration of the 2002R features a beautiful play of grays and blues. The sneaker features premium dusty blue suede on the mudguard, midfoot, and heel. In contrast, the toe and tongue feature a darker blue on the perforated nubuck. The base of the shoe has a gray mesh base, adding texture and depth to the overall design. The iconic “ N ” logo on the midfoot takes on a stealthy black hue, matching the black insole. JJJJound's signature touch is evident in the reflective 3M branding on the tongue, which contrasts elegantly with the creamy lace ensemble. The white and cream foam midsole and durable black rubber outsole, taken directly from the New Balance 860v2, complete this stellar design.
