Patta, founded in Amsterdam in 2004 , has become a household name among sneakerheads and streetwear enthusiasts, particularly through its collaborations with brands such as Nike, Asics and Carhartt WIP. Their latest capsule with Nike, their wavy take on the Air Max 1, saw immediate success, releasing four colorways in the second half of 2021. After taking a first look at an all-white pair, Patta and Nike took the color blocking of the “Rush Maroon” pair to create the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Brown” .

Dressed in a mix of leather and mesh on the upper and underlays, the sneaker takes on an almost two-tone look, without the brown collar and blue plastic eyecup. On the toe box, a silver mesh is surrounded by the wavy overlays of Patta 's classic AM1 , which take on a burnt orange color from heel to toe. Branding details remain standard on the upper, with the Nike Swoosh along the midfoot receiving a silver trim and the mini-Swoosh located on the mudguard being embroidered with silver thread. The laces take on a tonal shade of dark russet, running up the same color mesh tongue to Patta and Nike's co-branded silver and white tongue label. On the heel, the Nike Air embroidery uses another shade of brown, allowing the branding to remain visible against the brown leather. The look is completed by an AM1 sail midsole with a visible Air unit in the heel, paired with a burgundy colored rubber outsole.
