The Nike Dunk Low always seems to double down at the start of the year. The “Street Hawker” collaboration and Strangeloves both kicked off their respective years, setting the tone for the months that followed. And if the recently unveiled Dunk Low “Barber Shop” sample ends up being released, we can expect the same in 2022.

Despite the mechanical name, faux hair does not appear along the shoe. Instead, the smooth leather base is dyed deep black, with its heel engraved with a pattern commonly used by the most artistic barbers. And along the edge of this panel, the piping features the iconic red, white, and blue stripes, honoring the profession much like the old-school clippers that accessorize the upper. Light blue additions then brighten the colorway by way of the lining, Swoosh, and tread, while red touches up the aglets and the Nike branding.
